Plastering

This is a wet mixed material applied to internal walls as a finish to fill in any irregularities in the wall surface and to provide a smooth continous surface suitable for direct decoration.

Internal Wall Finishes

These can be classified as wet and dry. The traditional wet finish is plaster which is mixed and applied to the wall in layers to achieve a smooth and durable finish suitable for decorative finishes such as paint and wall paper.

Dry Lining

The interal surfaces of walls and partitions are covered with plasterboard, insulating fibre board or hardboard. The joints of the boards are then covered to give a smooth appearance which can then be painted or wallpapered.

Rendering

The purpose of external rendering is to protect the surface from the elements. The mortar mix is applied in two coats, a scratch coat and then a finish coat which can be painted when dry.

Floor Screeding

The purpose of floor screeding is to ensure you have a durable, smooth and level  surface within your home or building. It is quite common due to building regulations for insulation to be screeded over. In other cases some lay underfloor heating systems within screed and for electrical heating systems this is applied directly in to the finished surface – which can be covered by either wood flooring or tiles.
